How to Get Started with Remote MCP Server

Step-by-step guide for integrating with the Remote MCP Server.

1. Prerequisites

   Before getting started, make sure you have the following:

   Bright Data Account

   Sign up for free and receive 5,000 requests per month at no cost.

   Your Bright Data API Key

   New users receive their API key via the welcome email.

2. Select Your Endpoint

   Use one of the following endpoints to connect to the Remote MCP Server:

   SSE (Server-Sent Events) endpoint:

   https://mcp.brightdata.com/sse?token=YOUR_API_TOKEN
   

   Replace YOUR_API_TOKEN with your actual Bright Data API token.

   Select and configure your preferred client:

4. Advanced Configuration

   Optional query parameters:

   • &unlocker=my_zone_name – Use a custom zone name for web scraping.
   • &browser=my_browser_zone – Use a custom zone name for browser automation.
   • &pro=1 – Enable advanced processing.

   Modes: Rapid (Free) vs Pro

   Rapid (Free) – Access to search_engine and scraper_as_markdown tools.
   Pro – Adds Browser API and Scraper tools for more advanced data extraction.

   Set &pro=1 in your endpoint URL to request Pro features.

   Extract real-time data from Google

   “Extract all flight times departing from JFK Airport to Heathrow in the next 24 hours.”

   Extract company data from LinkedIn

   “Extract the Bright Data overview section from LinkedIn.”
